Lucky Number 22
Number 22 was the winning number on the Sainsbury's Draw this weekend.
Paul Le Feuvre picked the number from his bag of balls during Neil Ogden's Sound of Sunday and the winner, Carol, was heard being given her prize later in the show.
Next weekend's draw winner will be picked during HRB's live coverage of the fifth Basingstoke Half Marathon.
Trev and Simon Back on The Sound of Sunday
Saturday morning TV legends Trev Neal and Simon Hickson will be this weekend celebrity drawmasters on The Sound of Sunday as well as talking about their latest project.
The duo, who entertained over 2 million people as part of Going Live and then Live and Kicking for 10 years from 1987, have a new free audio podcast called Strangeness in Space. Episode 1 is available to download and listen to right now at www.strangenessinspace.com. It has been funded by a crowd funding Kickstarter campaign and also stars Sophie Aldred and Rufus Hound.
There'll no doubt be a few Saturday morning Tv memories too, as there were when they last appeared on the show, on 1 October 2006, at the time of the 30th anniversary of Saturday morning TV.
Hear Trev and Simon live on the show this weekend (16 August).
The End of an Era
27 July 2012 was the night “The Isles of Wonder” opened London 2012. 27 July 2015, exactly 3 years on and the same track where Jessica Ennis, Mo Farrah and Usain Bolt did their stuff, came to the end of its life with the Diamond 5 x 5K Relay being the final event before the track is relaid for future events.
HRB’s Neil Ogden was there for the event as a volunteer and managed to grab a chat with Geoff Wightman, Head of Roadrunning at British Athletics about the event and the end of an era.
Hear what he had to say on The Sound of Sunday this Sunday afternoon (2nd August) from 1.30.
The Froyle Fete 2015
It's always great to get out of the studio and once a year we take the show on location to the Froyle Fete. This annual village fete has been running for 69 years and is always a good afternoon. HRB's Paul le Feuvre provides the PA and we record an edition of The Sound of Sunday at the event.
This year's show went out on 26 July.
